Inside factory, there are the following laboratories:
CHEMICAL ANALYSIS LABORATORY
where are made:
- chemical composition analysis for steels, non-ferrous alloys based on Cu, Sn, Al, ferro-alloys, sand for casting, raw materials and different materials;
- galvanizing bath analysis;
- environment protection analysis: residual water, sediment powders.
METALOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS LABORATORY
- establishes material structure in delivery state or after a primary or secondary thermal treatment.
Are used:
- optical metalographic microscope NEOPHOT 21 and EPITYP;
- establishes thickness of the hardened layer after thermo chemical treatments using micro-hardness measure equipments with loads up to 100gf and between 5kgf and 10kgf
SPECTRAL CHEMICAL ANALYSIS
- determines percentage chemical composition of alloying elements for steel and cast iron.
It is equipped with an spectrometer POLYVAC made by HILGER, which made corrections of a steel batch, indicating in the same time quantity of ferro-alloys which have to be introduced in the furnace to obtain requested quality of cast steel. There is also an spectroport that works in three programs identifying and sorting steel values.
NON-DESTRUCTIVE CONTROL LABORATORY
- realises non-destructive control of welded joints with filler material.
Control is done by:
- ultrasound with Defectoscop Sonic 136 Ultra and US 230 (SITESCAN 230) made by NAMICON;
- - penetrant liquids.
MATERIAL TESTING LABORATORY
- realises mechanical testing of metallic specimens for simple and complex loads: elongation, impact, strength, yield, constriction, bending, hardness.
METROLOGY LABORATORY
- supervises, maintains and periodically checks all measuring equipments from the factory.
Fields of measuring:
- Space and time: plane angle, length.
- Mechanical: mass, force, torque, pressure, hardness.
- Temperature: grades Celsius.
- Electricity.
Measuring the thickness of the paint layer or chromium deposited on machined surfaces is made with a special NAMICON kit, with numeric display and detector with sensors.
